NowāFebruary 28, 2025
April 1āMay 31, 2025
Pro Tip: Donāt forget to register for the promotion before booking to qualify for those bonus points. Itās quick and free!
Eligible Destinations šļø
Hereās a sneak peek of where you can earn those extra points:
Beach Getaways: Cancun, Aruba, Punta Cana, Maui, Varadero
City Escapes: Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, San Francisco
Hidden Gems: CuraƧao, St. Lucia, Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa
Plus 50 eligible destinations, so thereās something for everyone. Whether youāre planning a family vacation, a romantic getaway, or just need a break from the cold, this promo has you covered.
How Much Can You Earn? š
Letās put this into perspective:
A round-trip flight from Toronto to Cancun typically earns around 3,000 Aeroplan points in Economy. With this promotion, you could earn up to 6,000 points for the same trip.
Upgrade to Business Class? Youāll earn even more bonus points (and a more luxurious experience, too).
These extra points could bring you closer to your next free flight, hotel stay, or car rental. Itās a win-win!
Tips to Supercharge Your Aeroplan Points š
Want to take this promotion to the next level? Pair your booking with an Aeroplan co-branded credit card for even more rewards:
American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card: Earn 3 points per dollar spent on Air Canada purchases.
TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card: Earn 2 points per dollar spent with Air Canada.
Both cards also offer perks like:
Priority boarding (no more waiting in long lines).
First checked bag free (save up to $60 round-trip).
Travel insurance for peace of mind.
For example, if you book a $1,000 flight using the Amex Reserve card, youād earn an additional 3,000 points on top of the bonus points from this promo.
Why This Deal is Worth It?
We value Aeroplan points at an average of 1.5ā2.5 cents per point (the higher the better), depending on how you redeem them. So, earning double points on a flight worth 6,000 points could save you up to $150 on future travel. If youāre strategic about earning and redeeming, promotions like this can quickly turn into real-world savings.
How to Get Started š«
Register for the promotion here (registration is mandatory).
Book your eligible flight or vacation package through Air Canada.
Travel, earn, and enjoy the sunshine!
Donāt Miss Out! ā³
This promotion runs for nearly a month (instead of a few days like past offers), so thereās plenty of time to plan your escape.
So, what are you waiting for? Start packing your bags and get ready to earn big while enjoying some well-deserved sunshine! š
New Update to the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card. Is it Really Worth It? š³
Alright, letās get real for a secondāTD just announced some new perks for its First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card, and while it sounds impressive, is it worth it is the question?
Sure, theyāre throwing in airport lounge access, a few boosted earn rates and a welcome bonus that looks massive on paper. But letās dig deeper to see the actual value.. if there is some.
The Good Stuff āØ
Letās start with what TD did get right:
1. āļø Airport Lounge Access (Finally)
You now get Visa Airport Companion membership (worth $135 CAD annually) and 4 free lounge passes (worth $175 CAD). This is a long-overdue perk for a āFirst Classā travel cardābecause letās be honest, with a name like āFirst Classā it should have already been included.
After you burn through the free passes, which if youāre a frequent traveller, you will, you can still access lounges for $44 CAD per visit, which isnāt bad compared to the typical $60+ walk-up rate. šø
2. āļø New Earn Rates
TD is finally giving you more bang for your buck in everyday categories:
Public Transit: Earn 6 points per $1 (great for commuters).
Streaming & Digital Gaming: Earn 4 points per $1.
Bars & Nightclubs: Earn 6 points per $1ācheers to earning while you drink!
These categories make sense for modern spending habits, and they complement existing earn rates like 8 points per $1 on Expedia for TD bookings and 6 points per $1 on groceries and dining.
But letās be honestā¦
TD Rewards Points just arenāt worth that much, outside of having to use them for travel with Expedia, in our opinion.
Value Per Point: When redeemed for travel through Expedia for TD, 1 point = $0.5 cents. So, those 135,000 points from the welcome bonus? Thatās $675 if you book through Expedia for TD. Decent, but not mind-blowing.
Other Redemptions: If you use your points for anything other than travel (like gift cards or merchandise), the value drops furtherācloser to $0.4 cents per point. So, unless youāre booking travel, youāre not getting much bang for your points.
Compare this to cards that offer points that you can redeem for $2.5 cents or more (like Aeroplan or Amex Membership Rewards), the value and redemption opportunities speak for themselves. š¤
The Verdict: Worth It or Nah?
If youāre looking for a card with decent perks and donāt mind the low point value, the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card might work for you. The lounge access and welcome bonus make it worth considering for the first year, especially with no annual fee. But if youāre someone whoās serious about earning and maximizing travel rewards, youāll probably get more value from a program like Aeroplan or Amex Membership Rewards.
