🚀 New Feature Alert: Schedule a One-Time Payment In Advance!
We just launched something a lot of you have been asking for: you can now schedule a one-time payment in advance!
Perfect for that utility bill you just got in the mail. Maybe you don’t want to put it on your card right away, but you also don’t want to forget about it. Now you can set it and forget it!
How it works:
Set up a new payment as you normally would, just click the "New payment" button on your dashboard.
When you reach the screen where you can pick between "Monthly" vs. "One-time", click "One-time", and you'll see a calendar where you can pick a date for the payment to happen. A few things to keep in mind:
You can schedule up to 30 days in advance
For PAD & bill pay transactions, scheduling is only available on weekdays (Mon–Fri)
You can even use this as a workaround to enable different payment frequencies — e.g. set up a weekly payment schedule for the next month.
We’re excited to be adding another way to make paying bills a bit easier. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
Transferring Amex Membership Rewards Points to Aeroplan

Flights to Europe from North America can be expensive, even more so if you’re dreaming of a business-class seat. American Express Membership Rewards are your solution: they’re the most flexible and valuable points in Canada, mainly because you can transfer them 1:1 to Aeroplan, one of the best airline loyalty programs around.
Here’s how to make the most of the Amex MR program and get the best business class redemptions possible: 👇
💳 Best Credit Cards to Earn With
Amex Platinum: Earn 2x points on dining, food delivery, and travel. Everything else earns 1x point per dollar. This card comes with premium perks (lounge access, travel insurance, and hotel status), but you’re paying a hefty annual fee ($799). It’s best for frequent travellers who’ll actually use the perks.
Amex Cobalt: Earn 5x points on dining, food delivery, and groceries, 2x on gas, transit, and rideshare, and 1x on everything else. It comes with a $15.99 monthly fee, but it feels light when you realize how quickly those 5x categories stack up.
🤓 How to Earn Faster (And Smarter)
Most Amex cards come with a generous welcome bonus, and that’s where the real acceleration happens. Using Chexy with your Amex card to pay your rent, bills, and other large expenses makes hitting the spend requirements a breeze.
Let’s say you spend $2,600 a month in rent and bills through Chexy ($2,645.50 with Chexy fees). Here’s how many points you can earn in a year:
Earn 1 point per $1 spent = 2,645 points/month, or 31,746 points/year
Add in your everyday spending to hit the 100,000 point welcome bonus, and
You’ll have earned over 131,746 points in your first year.
When converted to Aeroplan, that’s enough for a round-trip business class flight to Europe. 🤑
✈️ How to Redeem Points for Business Class Flights
Transferring Membership Rewards points to Aeroplan at a 1:1 ratio is the best way to get those business-class flight redemptions. Aeroplan’s pricing can fluctuate, but you can find great sweet spots, like:
60,000 to 70,000 points for a business class flight from Canada to many European cities

60,000 points from Toronto to Lisbon

70,000 points from Toronto to Rome
87,500 points for a one-way business class flight from Vancouver to Tokyo

50,000 points for a business class seat to South America

💡 Pro tip: Partner airlines usually have lower fares & fees than Air Canada itself. If you see an Amex transfer bonus, jump in it - those can stretch your points 10% to 20% further.

Transferring RBC Avion to British Airways Avios

RBC Avion is another great loyalty program for earning points and redeeming on business-class flights. They have fewer transfer partners, but if played right, they can be quite powerful.
The best move? Transferring them 1:1 to British Airways Avios, which opens up the entire Oneworld Alliance (Qatar, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, Iberia).
Here’s how to make the most of your Avion and Avios points: 👇
💳 Best Credit Cards to Earn With
RBC Avion Visa Infinite Privilege: Earn 1.25x points per $1 on everything. This card comes with premium airport perks and insurance, but comes with a $399 annual fee.
RBC Avion Visa Platinum: Earn 1x point per $1 on everything with a much lower fee of $120.
🤓 How to Earn Faster
Like Amex, RBC Avion cards come with high welcome bonuses for first-time cardholders. Using the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Privilege with Chexy to pay your $2,600 monthly bills and rent, you could earn over 109,000 points in your first year. Here’s how it breaks down:
Earn 1.25 points per $1 spent = 3,306 points/month, or 39,675 points/year
Add in the 70,000 point welcome bonus, and
You’ll have earned over 109,675 points in your first year.
Avios frequently runs transfer bonus promos of up to 30% to 50%. If you time it right, you could end up with over 164,000 Avios points, enough for a one-way Qatar Airways Qsuite ticket or multiple short-haul flights.
✈️ How to Redeem Smartly for Business Class Flights
You’ll generally get the most value on partner flights. Some sweet spots to look out for:
70,000 Avios for Qatar Airways Qsuite to the Middle East

80,000 Avios for a business class flight from Toronto to London

20,000 Avios for short-haul business-class flights within Europe

💡Pro tip: You can book all of these flights via the British Airways Executive Club portal. The trick here is patience: wait for a transfer bonus, then move your points for 30% to 50% extra value.
