Hilton's New Partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World
Hilton has recently announced an exciting partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), allowing guests to earn and redeem points at select luxury properties worldwide. 😆
The Details
This exclusive partnership allows SLH hotels to be booked through Hilton's channels. If you’re a Hilton Honors member, you can now earn and redeem points at these properties, and those with Elite Status will get additional perks on eligible stays.
SLH has 560 independent luxury hotels across the world, however only 400 of them will be available to book through Hilton channels. This complements Hilton’s existing luxury brands like Waldorf Astoria and Conrad, among others.
Earning and Redeeming Points
Members earn base points and elite tier bonuses on room rates only at SLH properties.
Points cannot be earned on other eligible charges like food and beverages.
Points can be redeemed at participating SLH properties at Standard Room Reward rates, and Free Night Rewards are also applicable. 👏

Maximizing Your Miles Purchase
Flying Blue members without elite status can purchase up to 100,000 miles per year. Elite members can buy an unlimited amount, with a maximum bonus of 300,000 miles.
Choosing the Right Credit Card
Flying Blue miles are sold through Points.com, an external vendor. Purchases made here do NOT count as travel purchases sadly. Use a credit card with a high base earning rate, so that you can meet the minimum spending requirement. ✅
An Example
This month’s Flying Blue's monthly Promo Rewards offer a pretty good deal. For example, the flights between Europe and Montreal are available at a 25% discount in business class. Normally, this would cost 50,000 miles, but with Promo Rewards, it's only 37,500 miles.
With the current 40% discount, you could buy 37,500 miles for approximately $686.25 USD (or about $940.87 CAD). For the round trip flight, it would add up to a total of 75,000 miles, which would cost $1,372.50 (USD) or $1882.40 CAD. That’s a really good deal considering business class seats for a transatlantic flight start from $3,500, and that’s on the cheaper side. 💸
Even after considering the surcharges, the savings compared to the cash price for a round-trip transatlantic flight are undeniable.
Final Thoughts
This current promotion is a great opportunity to purchase miles at a discounted rate if you are looking to book flights, especially for business-class cabins.
