The CatchāBlackout Dates
Not all dates are fair game. Air Canada has set blackout periods for peak summer travel:

Canada to Europe: June 19 ā July 1, 2025
Europe to Canada: August 1 ā September 10, 2025Canada to Asia-Pacific: June 20 ā July 31, 2025
Asia-Pacific to Canada: August 1 ā September 10, 2025
Is This Actually a Good Deal? š¤
The thing with Aeroplanās dynamic pricing is that thereās no way to see exactly what kind of discount youāre gettingāyou just have to trust that you are getting a good deal.
Letās take a look at some examples:
Toronto (YYZ) to Tokyo (HND) in Business Class for 85,000 Aeroplan points (down from the usual 110,000+).
If a tropical getaway is more your speed, you can grab Montreal (YUL) to Aruba (AUA) for just 24,000 Aeroplan points in economy.
And for a long-haul premium cabin steal, Vancouver (YVR) to Auckland (AKL) in Premium Economy is going for 67,000 Aeroplan points, a solid redemption compared to the usual 80,000+ range.
Personally, weād say that if you can score at least 2.1 cents per point, itās a solid redemption. If itās under that, you might want to hold onto your points for a better deal.
Also, compare Air Canada flights against partner airline redemptionsāsometimes youāll get better value booking with a Star Alliance partner instead.
Smart Redemptions You Should Consider
Here are some routes where you can squeeze the most out of this promotion:
Toronto (YYZ) ā Amsterdam (AMS) ā 60,500 points roundtrip
Toronto (YYZ) ā Athen (ATH) ā 51,400 points roundtrip
Toronto (YYZ) ā Seoul (ICN) ā 52,600 points in Premium Economy (or upgrade to Business Class for 70,600 points + CA$77)
If you have eUpgrade credits, use them strategically to move up to business class for fewer points.
Note: using your eUpgrades will make it easier and cheaper for you upgrade to business class
Which Credit Card Should You Use? š³
To maximize savings, use an Aeroplan co-branded credit card when paying for taxes and fees. This ensures you get travel insurance coverage in case of flight delays or cancellations.
Best pick: TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card
Earn 10,000 Aeroplan points upon first purchase.
Earn 1.5x points on Air Canada purchases, gas, and groceries.
Get a free checked bag on Air Canada flights.
Final Thoughts š
If youāre planning to book an Aeroplan award flight in 2025, this promotion is worth consideringāespecially if you can score 2.1+ cents per point in value.
