Exciting news from Air Canada! The latest feature in the Air Canada mobile app is a real-time baggage tracker, initially available for domestic flights. Using the same tag-scanning system employed by Air Canada staff, this feature ensures accurate and up-to-date information.

Get ready for a more festive holiday season with Aeroplan's annual promotion! From December 1st to the 23rd, 2023, Aeroplan members can expect a new daily offer to earn or redeem points. Each day reveals a fresh opportunity to boost your points balance or redeem them for fantastic deals.

Aeroplan Points With 30% Discount
Aeroplan currently offers a promotion on buying points until December 30, 2023, with discounts of up to 30%. The usual price is 3.5 cents per point (CAD), but with the discount, the cost is 2.45 cents per point (CAD). Keep in mind that this is higher than the target redemption valuation of 2.1 cents (CAD).
The promotion has tiered discounts based on the number of points purchased:
15% discount for 10,000–19,000 points
20% discount for 20,000–75,000 points
25% discount for 80,000–95,000 points
30% discount for 100,000 or more points
Buying or gifting points does NOT contribute to Aeroplan Elite Status, and the purchase limit is 1,000,000 points per calendar year.
It’s also important to consider using a U.S. credit card with a U.S. billing address to avoid GST/HST on the purchase. 💳 However, buying points may not be ideal compared to other ways of earning Aeroplan points, such as through credit card bonuses - as we all know.
When is it beneficial?
Buying Aeroplan points could be beneficial for those planning to travel on long-haul partner airlines or families utilizing the Family Sharing feature.
However, it's crucial to assess the value prop based on individual travel and the dynamic pricing model of Aeroplan.
