šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ Get Paid This Tax Season: While the government takes its cut, you can take yours.

Tax season is winding down, and if you’re like most Canadians, you’re looking at your tax bill thinking… really? After all that? 😬 We get it. It’s not exactly fun to hand over thousands of dollars to the government. But here’s the good news, you can now earn something back.

With Chexy Tax, you can pay your income taxes with a credit card and actually get rewarded for it. Whether you’re all about points or just want a little cashback to spend on groceries or shopping, this is one of the easiest ways to make tax season work for you instead of against you. šŸ¤‘

šŸ’øYou’re already spending the money. Might as well earn something for it.

Most people just pay their taxes via online banking and call it a day. But when you use your credit card through Chexy, you can turn that payment into cashback, travel points, or a massive head start on your card’s welcome bonus. šŸ’³

šŸ’°Cashback Example:

For example, if you use the Scotia MomentumĀ® Visa Infinite*, which earns 4% cashback on recurring bills, an $8,000 tax payment (Canadian average) could bring in $320 in rewards. After our 1.75% fee ($140), you’re still coming out $180 ahead, and you didn’t do anything differently. šŸ‘€

āļø Points Example:

Using a card like the American Express Aeroplan Reserve earns you 1.25 Aeroplan points per dollar, so that same $8,000 turns into 10,000 points. With flights to New York starting at 6,000 points, you could visit the big apple just by paying your tax bill.

šŸ”“ Unlock huge welcome bonuses

We all love a good welcome bonus, but let’s be honest, spending $5,000 to $10,000 in three months just on daily expenses isn’t always realistic. With Chexy Tax, a single payment could do all the heavy lifting.

For example:

The American Express Platinum Card offers up to 100,000 MR points when you spend $10,000 in 3 months.

Put your tax bill on this card with Chexy and you’ll secure the first portion of 70,000 points, and with a single purchase of any amount in month 14th through 17th month, you’ll get the rest!

When these points are transferred to a loyalty partner like Aeroplan, you could get multiple trips across North America, a roundtrip in economy to Europe or even a one way in business class to Europe. āœ…

šŸ¤ OK, so how do you do it?

It’s simple. Log in or create an account here, select ā€œPay Income Taxes,ā€ choose CRA or Revenu QuĆ©bec, enter your SIN and the amount, then add your credit card. Your payment will be sent within 3 business days. The CRA might take a few more days to show it on your account, but rest assured, it’s in progress.

Final thoughts: Your tax bill isn’t optional. But earning rewards on it is.

You’re already paying your taxes. Now you can earn while doing it. Whether you’re stacking points for your next flight or putting cash back into your wallet, Chexy Tax gives you a way to make one of your biggest yearly expenses finally do something for you.

Start earning rewards with Chexy Tax and make tax season suck just a little bit less.

āļø Qatar Airways is bringing daily flights from Toronto to Doha

Some good news for those who are sitting on a pile of Avios points. Qatar Airways is about to make things a whole lot easier. āœ…

Starting June 19, they are bumping their Toronto to Doha route up to five flights a week. Then by October 26, it will be flying daily.

More flights means way more chances to book one of those famous Qsuite seats (which our Chexy staff love) šŸ’–. If you know, you know. It is one of the best business class experiences you can get with points.

We did a little quick search and found some Qsuite awards for just 70,000 Avios in June.

Best Way to Get More Avois

If you are looking to earn more Avios points in Canada, some good options are signing up for an RBC Avion card, or the RBC British Airways Visa Infinite.

One of the most attractive redemptions with Aeroplan points is booking long-haul flights in premium cabins.

For anyone travelling to or from Japan, redeeming Aeroplan points for flights in business class or First Class with All Nippon Airways (ANA) is about as good as it gets.

Recently, ANA awards in premium cabins have become bookable online with Aeroplan again. If you’re looking to score one of the most sought after seats, here are some tips.

The best award availability for these flights is within two weeks or so of departure (or a year in advance). If you’re flexible with dates and don’t mind waiting until the last minute, there’s a good chance you’ll score the flight that you want.

Plus, if you don’t mind a stop in Hawaii, award availability between Tokyo and Honolulu tends to be excellent in both business class and First Class.

Flights between Tokyo and Vancouver or Seattle can be booked for just 55,000 Aeroplan points in business class, which is an outstanding redemption.

Familiarize yourself with ANA’s route map to understand which routes the airline flies, and use the calendar search feature on the United MileagePlus website to speed up your research.

Lastly, your best experience will be on ANA’s newest products: ā€œThe Roomā€ (business class) and ā€œThe Suiteā€ (First Class), which are found on a subset of the airline’s fleet.

If you’d like to learn more about ANA’s excellent premium cabins and how to book them with points, check out the resources on the Prince of Travel website and consider joining our community for help with booking and finding award availability.

Check out these awesome deals you definitely don't want to miss if you're thinking about travelling in the next few months!
