Earn Bonus eUpgrades and SQM with Amex Aeroplan Reserve Status Offer

Air Canada and American Express are reintroducing a special offer for the American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card, exclusively for Aeroplan Elite Status members.

The Offer

Elite members who are approved for a new card and earn 20,000 Aeroplan points between April 25 and July 31, 2024, will receive an additional 20 eUpgrades and 15,000 Status Qualifying Miles (SQM) on top of the card’s regular welcome bonus! 

How to Earn

You can earn the extra 20 eUpgrades and 15,000 SQM by:

1. Registering for the offer.

2. Applying for and being approved for a new American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card.

3. And earning 20,000 Aeroplan points posted to their account by July 31, 2024.

Important note: This offer is only valid for new applications made between April 25 and July 31, 2024. Existing cardholders who reapply are not eligible for the offer.

Things to Consider

It’s important to note that points earned as part of the welcome bonus, referrals, or points transferred into the account do not count towards the total…sadly. Only points earned through the card’s base earning rate and category multipliers qualify, which makes things harder for interested cardholders. 💳

As a reminder, here are the earn rates:

• 3X the Aeroplan points on travel booked via Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations

• 2X the Aeroplan points on dining and food delivery 

• 1X on Everything else

For those who aren’t as familiar with Aeroplan’s Status System, Aeroplan SQM or Status Qualifying Miles, is essentially a measure used by Aeroplan to determine your status within their loyalty program. These miles are earned through eligible flight activities and certain credit card spending. They contribute towards achieving or maintaining Aeroplan Elite Status levels, such as Aeroplan 25K, 35K, 50K, and Super Elite.

Reaching Aeroplan Elite Status, thanks to those SQM, unlocks a range of benefits, like priority check-in, boarding, and access to airport lounges, which we love! 💺 There are also complimentary upgrades, exclusive member rewards, and enhanced earning rates on flights, plus more.

You can see why this current offer is something to consider since you’ll be able to reach this status level faster with a little less work than you would originally have to!

How to Apply

If you’re interested, you should register for the offer before applying. ✅ Once you are approved, as explained above you must earn 20,000 Aeroplan points via credit card spending, which must be posted to the account by July 31, 2024.

Additionally, you must maintain Aeroplan Elite Status between April 25 and July 31, 2024, to be eligible.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Amex Aeroplan Status Offer is a pretty good opportunity for Aeroplan Elite members to earn additional perks by meeting the specific spending threshold within the limited timeframe.

• Platinum members: earn 8 miles for every euro spent
