2024 TD Rewards Credit Card and TD Aeroplan Co-Branded Credit Cards Welcome Bonuses and Offers 🤑
There have been incremental changes to the welcome bonuses for multiple TD Rewards credit cards and TD Aeroplan co-branded credit cards. So, let’s break it down and discuss the best, the worst, and where to redeem your points.
Breakdown:
As the new year unfolds, TD has introduced its Winter 2024 welcome offers for select Rewards credit cards and TD Aeroplan co-branded credit cards. While some of these offers maintain their previous sign-up bonuses (SUBs), others see changes. Let’s explore the best and worst cards among the new Winter 2024 offers and find out if their worth grabbing! 🫰
Now, TD First Class Travel Visa currently has an all-time-high sign-up bonus of 135,000 TD Rewards points. This exceeds previous offerings on the card from last year, ranging from 100,000 to 115,000 points. With TD points ranging in value between 0.25c (gift card redemptions) to 0.5c (on travel booked through TD portal), the value of these points comes to $337.5 - $675. Given the all-time high sign-up bonus, this is the best card from the list to get at this point if you have been eyeing TD credit cards The card also boasts additional perks, including a first-year rebate valued at $139, a 12-month Uber One membership, a birthday bonus of up to 10,000 points, and an annual $100 travel credit, which all increase the value of the card.
💯 Redemption of Points
It's important to recognize that while a high SUB is enticing, understanding how to attain it and its strategic value is equally important.
The TD Rewards redemptions value redemption of certain categories differently than others, such as:
Merchandise, Gift Cards at 0.25c
Statement Credits at 0.25c
Amazon Purchases at 0.33c
Education at 0.40c
Redeem for Other Travel at 0.40c
Expedia for TD at 0.50c
To maximize the value of TD Rewards points, using them for travel through Expedia for TD proves most fruitful as seen below.
The Remaining Cards in TD Winter Offers
Now, let's take a look at the remaining cards, where some have maintained their offers while other cards have seen a decrease. It's important to note that though these offers may not be as enticing as in previous years, credit card promotions often roll out seasonally. We will keep you updated about the latest and most appealing offers! 🗞️
TD Platinum Travel Visa Infinite
Regarding TD Rewards credit cards, the TD Platinum Travel Visa Infinite's offer remains consistent, featuring a sign-up bonus of 50,000 TD Rewards Points. The offer is quite feasible, with 15,000 points on your initial purchase and the remaining 35,000 points when you spend $1,000 in your first 90 days (3 months).
While the sign-up bonus may not be the greatest, the card offers a first-year rebate valued at $89, and subsequent years are waived with a qualifying bank account, allowing you to test drive or churn the card! 🙌
TD Rewards Visa
Similar to the TD Platinum Travel Visa, the TD Rewards Visa credit card's offer has remained at 15,152 points from the previous year. This is standard for a no-fee beginner credit card.
You can earn the sign-up bonus by keeping the account open, active, and in good standing for 90 days. Plus, it comes with a 6-month Uber One membership.
TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card
Moving on to TD's Aeroplan co-branded credit cards, the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card has experienced a significant decrease from last year's high of 70,000 points, now offering a sign-up bonus of only 40,000 points.
The welcome bonus includes 10,000 Aeroplan points on your first purchase, 20,000 Aeroplan points when you spend $5,000 in 180 days (6 months), and an anniversary bonus of 10,000 Aeroplan points.
The card also features a first-year rebate valued at $139, with eligibility requiring a $60,000 personal or $100,000 household income.
It's worth noting that although entry-level co-branded cards might have a lower sign-up bonus right now, these bonuses can change throughout the year, so we would recommend waiting for the summer offers. ⏰
TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card
Similarly, the TD Aeroplan Visa Privilege Infinite has also seen a significant drop in its sign-up bonus, now offering 75,000 Aeroplan points compared to the previous year's 115,000 points. With a hefty $599 annual fee, the new sign-up bonus may not offer the best value.
You earn 20,000 Aeroplan points on your first purchase, 30,000 when you spend $10,000 in the first 180 days (6 months), and an anniversary bonus of 25,000 when you spend another $15,000 within the first 12 months of your account opening.
We recommend waiting for other seasonal offers that might include an increase in the sign-up bonus to help justify the annual fee of $599.
TD Aeroplan Platinum Travel Visa Card
The TD Aeroplan Platinum Travel Visa Card's sign-up bonus remains at 20,000 Aeroplan points. This isn't surprising as this card is considered an entry-level to mid-level credit card.
It's uncertain whether this card's sign-up bonuses will increase, as it falls between some of the better TD X Aeroplan credit cards and the entry-level no-fee ones like the TD Rewards.
We've got something thrilling to kick off the new year!
