Buy Air France KLM Flying Blue Miles with a 70% Bonus

If you're an active Air France KLM Flying Blue loyalty program member and love its monthly Promo Rewards, then you’ll love this new promotion!

Flying Blues' new promotion could be a great opportunity for you to buy miles with a bonus we know you’ll love. ❤️

Grab Flying Blue Miles with a 70% Bonus

From now until June 10, 2024, You can purchase miles and receive up to a 70% bonus.

How it works

You will have to be a Flying Blue member to buy miles and once you do, you’ll get a 70% bonus when you buy at least 2,000 miles.

The standard rate is 3.05 cents per mile (USD), which as explained in our previous newsletter is pretty steep. However, with this promotion, the cost drops to 1.79 cents per mile (USD) or 2.42 cents per mile (CAD). Even though this is above our usual valuation of Flying Blue miles, it can still be worth it if you have specific award flights in mind. 😆

Buying miles is different for both non-elite members, where there’s a limit of 100,000 miles per year before adding any promotional bonus and no limit on the number of miles elite members can buy

Note: The maximum bonus elite members can receive is 210,000 miles during this promotion.

What Would This Look Like?

Let’s say you’re eyeing a Europe to Montreal Promo Reward, which is 15,000 miles. With this 70% miles buying promo, you only need to purchase 8,824 miles. This would cost you approximately $264.12 (USD) or $358.08 (CAD).

With the 70% promo, purchasing 8,824 miles will give you an additional 6,177 bonus miles, totalling 15,001 miles—just enough to book your reward flight!

Best Way to Buy Miles

Flying Blue uses Points.com for these purchases, which unfortunately means they don’t count as travel purchases directly with the airlines. To get the most out of your miles purchase, use a card with a high base earning rate or one where you’re working towards a minimum spend requirement.

In addition, Points.com charges GST/HST, so using a US credit card with a US billing address will help you make the most of this purchase. Learn more about this here.

Marriott Bonvoy Points with Up to 50% Bonus Up for Grabs

Attention all Marriott Bonvoy Members, there is a great promotion, you don’t want to miss out on, especially if you have travel plans coming up! Log in to your account to find out more.

Until July 24, 2024, you can receive a bonus of up to 50% when purchasing Marriott Bonvoy points, which if you ask me, is a great deal since summer is right around the corner and flights will be boarded.

Buying Marriott Bonvoy Points with a Bonus

With this promotion, you can earn up to a 50% bonus on the purchase of at least 10,000 points. Individual offers may vary so be sure to check your account for your personalized offer.

Here are the Specifics:

Before diving into the details of purchasing Marriott Bonvoy points, here are some important perks and guidelines you'll want to keep in mind.

  • If you are new to Marriott Bonvoy, you'll sadly have to wait 30 days after joining before you can start buying points

  • When you're grabbing those Marriott Bonvoy points, remember, the bonus points you earn in this deal won't eat into your annual purchase limit of 100,000 points.

  • Once you make your purchase, give it some time for those points to hit your account - up to 72 hours.

Getting into the Deal

Now, let’s say you’re considering a luxurious stay at the JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge in Kenya. A deluxe suite for one night typically costs around $2,613 USD, which is approximately $2,958 CAD—a price that many would find quite steep. 😅

However, there's a great alternative. The same room on the same date is available for 150,000 points. 🔑

With the current promotion offering a 50% bonus, this could turn out to be an excellent deal. Given that Marriott points are valued at 0.9 cents each, you would only need to purchase 100,000 points, costing you $900 USD or about $1,230 CAD. 🤑

This means you would be saving more than twice the amount compared to paying the full price of $2,958 CAD in cash!

Best Way to Buy Points

The best way to buy points during this promo or any Marriott Bonvoy promo is through a card that doesn't charge a foreign transaction fee, so you can save an additional 2.5%. So, in this case consider using the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite, if you end up going with this deal.

Plus, you can also secure 3 months of Chexy fees waived if you apply through the link above. A win-win if you ask me.
