š New Feature Alert: Schedule a One-Time Payment In Advance!
We just launched something a lot of you have been asking for: you can now schedule a one-time payment in advance!
Perfect for that utility bill you just got in the mail. Maybe you donāt want to put it on your card right away, but you also donāt want to forget about it. Now you can set it and forget it!
How it works:
Set up a new payment as you normally would, just click the "New payment" button on your dashboard.
When you reach the screen where you can pick between "Monthly" vs. "One-time", click "One-time", and you'll see a calendar where you can pick a date for the payment to happen. A few things to keep in mind:
You can schedule up to 30 days in advance
For PAD & bill pay transactions, scheduling is only available on weekdays (MonāFri)
You can even use this as a workaround to enable different payment frequencies ā e.g. set up a weekly payment schedule for the next month.
Weāre excited to be adding another way to make paying bills a bit easier. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
āļø 25% Off Air France & KLM Flights from Vancouver to Europe

Air France KLM Flying Blue Promo Rewards are here for October. This month, theyāre offering 25% off economy class flights from Vancouver to Europe, starting at just 18,750 miles one-way.
This monthly promo is valid until October 31st, 2025, for travel through March 31st, 2026.
Where Can You Fly?
At the discounted rate of 18,750 miles, we found deals for economy class flights like:
Vancouver to Amsterdam (Nov 17, 2025)

Vancouver to Bilbao (Feb 16, 2026)

Vancouver to Verona (Mar 29, 2026)

These one-way tickets normally cost around 1,100 euros or $1,700 - $1,800 CAD. With the 18,750-mile pricing, youāre getting roughly 9 to 10 cents per mile. This is an insane value, considering most programs (like Aeroplan) average around 2 cents per mile.
The only catch is availability. As these discounted redemptions arenāt available on every route or date, youāll need to do some digging. For example, we only found a handful of dates with the promo pricing to Bilbao between now and March 31.
šāāļø How to Get Flying Blue Miles
If you donāt have Flying Blue Miles sitting around, your best move is transferring Amex Membership Rewards points to Flying Blue at a 1:0.75 ratio.
This means youāll need 50,000 Amex MR points for a round-trip economy flight at the discounted 18,750-mile rate each way, or just 25,000 points for a one-way ticket.
By paying your rent, bills, and large expenses with Chexy and your Amex card, you can rack up points fast and unlock those massive welcome bonuses (some worth up to 100,000 points).
To put it into perspective, the average Canadian pays about $2,600 in fixed monthly expenses ($2,000 in rent plus $600 in other bills). If you put this on your Amex card, youāll reach the 70,000-point threshold (the first tier of the 100,000-point welcome bonus) in less than 3 months.
Thatās enough for two round-trip economy tickets at the discounted rate, without changing your spending habits. š«”
How to Book
Head to the Air France or KLM website, plug in your destination, and look for one-way flights priced at 18,750 miles. No promo code is required; the discount is applied automatically.
Pro tip: if youāre browsing the Dutch KLM site, fares may display in euros, so switch to the Canadian version to see CAD fees.
š Final Thoughts: Is This Promo Worth It?
Yes, especially if you live in Vancouver and want a low-cost trip to Europe on points. Compared to Aeroplan, where round-trip economy flights to Europe typically cost 70,000 to 140,000 points or more, these promo flights for just 50,000 Amex points are hard to beat.
The catch? Availability varies by destination and date, so youāll need to play around with your search. While business class isnāt discounted this month, economy at this value is still a win.
If Europe is on your radar for winter or early spring, this promo is one of the cheapest ways to get there from Canada using points. Youāve got until October 31, 2025, to lock in this deal.
Youāve got until October 30, 2025, to take advantage of this offer.
š¤ New Changes to Air Canadaās Baggage Allowance & Airport Lounge Updates

This week, Air Canada announced updates thatāll affect both frequent flyers and anyone who enjoys a pre-flight snack in the lounge. Letās get into the details. š
š§³ Changes to Checked Baggage Allowance for Elite Members
The not-so-great news first: starting January 1st, 2026, Aeroplan 25k members will lose their second free checked bag on Air Canada flights. Going forward, theyāll only get one complimentary bag, unless they also hold an Aeroplan co-branded credit card, which allows them to have another free checked bag.
Why does this matter? Many 25K Elites are frequent domestic travellers, where a second bag often saves ~$30 to $50 per flight. If you check bags regularly, this change could cost you a few hundred dollars a year.
However, thereās a flip side. Beginning February 1, 2025, both 25K and 35K members will get an extra free bag when flying Lufthansa Group airlines (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian, etc.). This is great if youāre flying to Europe, but less useful if most of your travel stays in North America.
š Maple Leaf Lounge Closures
Air Canada is also closing some of its Maple Leaf Lounges for renovations:
Montreal (Domestic lounge): Closed since September 29th, reopening in late December. Elite travellers can still use the Air Canada Cafe, or if youāre 50k status and above, the new Aspire Amex Lounge.
Halifax (Domestic Lounge): Closed since October 1st and staying shut until early 2027. With no alternatives at YHZ, regulars wonāt have a lounge for the next year and a half.
On the plus side, Air Canada is expanding its CafƩs. Vancouver will get two new spots: one in the domestic terminal later this year and another in the transborder terminal early next year. Plus, Montreal is set to open its own transborder CafƩ in early 2026.
š Chexy x Aeroplan Campus Activation

This past weekend, we teamed up with Aeroplan, alongside partners such as Uber and Starbucks, for activations at the University of Waterloo and Bay & College Plaza near the University of Toronto. The goal wasnāt just to reach students, but to show how everyday spending, whether itās rent, tuition, rides, or even your morning coffee, can turn into Aeroplan points.
With Chexy, members can earn points on big recurring expenses like rent, tuition, and bills, then put those rewards toward flights and upgrades. By linking your Aeroplan account to Chexy, you can start stacking rewards right away and earn up to 5,000 Aeroplan points until January 31, 2026.
Toronto got the first taste this weekend, but itās only the beginning of how Chexy and Aeroplan are making everyday payments more rewarding.
