âœˆď¸ 25% Off Air France & KLM Flights from Toronto to Europe

If you’ve been eyeing a trip to Europe this summer but haven’t booked your flight yet, this deal is for you. Air France and KLM just dropped their July Promo Rewards, offering 25% off economy class reward tickets from Toronto to Europe, North Africa, or Turkey.

This monthly promo is valid until July 31, 2025, for travel until December 31, 2025

Where You Can Fly

The lowest one-way economy redemptions start at 18,750 miles (normally 25,000). That’s 37,500 miles round-trip, a solid discount compared to what you’d typically spend with Aeroplan or even Amex’s own travel program.

These Promo Rewards apply to economy class flights departing from Toronto (YYZ) to select destinations, including:

  • Paris

  • Istanbul

  • Berlin

Most one-way economy flights from Toronto to Europe typically go for $1,100 to $1,500 CAD, or  €750–1,000+. With the promo pricing at 18,750 miles, you’re getting a value of 5.9 to 8 cents per mile, which is an excellent deal. 🤩

How to Get Flying Blue Miles

If you don’t already collect Flying Blue Miles, the easiest way to get them is by transferring your American Express MR points to Flying Blue at a 1:0.75 ratio.

That means you’ll need 50,000 Amex MR points for a round-trip economy flight at the discounted 18,750-mile rate each way, or just 25,000 MR points for a one-way ticket. 🤑

Thanks to the elevated welcome bonuses on the Amex Gold and Platinum cards, you could earn up to 180,000 points just for signing up. That’s more than enough for multiple Flying Blue redemptions, no extra effort required. ✈️

How to Book

Head to the Air France or KLM website, enter your travel dates, and look for one-way economy class flights priced at 18,750 miles. The 25% discount will show automatically; no promo code needed.

If you’re browsing on the Dutch KLM site, prices may show up in euros, so just switch to the Canadian version for CAD fees.

Final Thoughts: Should You Jump On This?

This month’s Flying Blue Promo Rewards are one of the cheapest ways to get to Europe from Toronto using points, even when accounting for the Amex transfer ratio.

You're flying to Europe round-trip for 50,000 Amex points, which is a fraction of what you'd pay with Aeroplan or Amex Fixed Points.

Just remember to book by July 31st and fly by December 31st, 2025.

đŸ’ł Scotiabank’s New Scene+ Welcome Bonus Offers: Earn Up to 80k Points

If you’ve been considering getting a new travel or points card, you’ll want to take a look at these new Scotiabank offers. Five of their Scene+ credit cards now offer elevated welcome bonuses, including some of the highest we’ve seen to date.

These welcome bonus offers are available until October 31, 2025, so you’ll need to jump on it quickly. Here are the new changes: 👇

This is Scotiabank’s go-to lifestyle card, perfect if you spend big on groceries, dining, and entertainment. You’ll earn:

  • 30,000 points after spending $2,000 in 3 months

  • 20,000 more if you hit $7,500 in your first year

That’s up to $500 in travel value with a very manageable spend, and you’re earning 5x or 6x points on groceries and dining. Spend the $7,500 at stores like Sobeys or IGA, and you’re looking at up to 95,000 points total ($950 in value). Not bad for a card with no foreign transaction fees and a low income requirement. ⭐️

Not to mention, the first year fee is waived–saving you $120. 🤝

This card is best for frequent travellers who want a widely accepted Visa with strong travel benefits and no FX fees. The welcome bonus entails:

  • 35,000 points for $2,000 in 3 months

  • Another 10,000 points if you spend $40,000/year

You can enjoy no FX fees and six free airport lounge visits per year. You’ll need a $60K personal income to qualify, but this is a reliable card for international travel and big annual spenders. ✈️

The High Rollers: Up to 80,000 Points

For those who spend a lot and want a premium credit card that earns Scene+ points, you have two options, each offering up to 80,000 Scene+ points (worth $800). Benefits include 10 free lounge visits, $250 travel credits, and concierge services. Annual fees are $399–$599, but they pay for themselves if you’re a high-volume spender. 🚀

This is a solid no-fee card if you’re just getting started with Scene+ or looking to stack American Express offers without the commitment. Some benefits:

  • No annual fee

  • 7,500 Scene+ points for spending $1,000 in 3 months

  • Amex Offers access + 3x points at Empire grocery stores

🧠 How to Maximize Your Bonus with Chexy

Pay your rent, bills, and everyday expenses with your Scene+ credit card and Chexy to reach the welcome bonus faster.

For example:

  • Your rent and bills = $3,000/month

  • 3-month spend = $9,000

The result? You easily lock in that welcome bonus and earn a bunch of points on everyday expenses without changing your lifestyle. 😎

🤔 What Are Scene+ Points Worth?

Scene+ is a fixed-value program, so you’re generally getting 1 cent per point when redeemed for travel.

Here’s the value breakdown:

  • 50,000 points = $500

  • 80,000 points = $800

  • 95,000 points = $950

While Scene+ doesn’t offer the outsized redemption potential of programs like American Express MR (which can be transferred to Aeroplan 1:1), the flip side is simplicity. You don’t need to look at award charts or hunt for the best deals. Simply book travel with your points at a flat rate.

Final Thoughts

Scotiabank’s current Scene+ offers are some of the best in Canada right now. Whether you want a no-FX travel card, solid grocery rewards, or an easy earn on rent and bills via Chexy, there’s likely a card here that fits your lifestyle.

These offers are only live until October 31, 2025, so now’s the time to lock in the bonus.

Right now, there’s a 30% transfer bonus when you transfer your RBC Avion points to The British Airways Club. Whenever these bonus events happen, it’s a good idea to take stock of what you can do with the extra points.

Aside from booking long-haul flights with oneworld airlines in premium cabins, one of the best uses of British Airways Avios is to book short-haul flights in various parts of the world.

While it’s not the most glamorous use of Avios, short-haul flights are great value-adds when you need to take a positioning flight, and they can also add a memorable stop in another city when you’re off exploring the world.

As you may know, flying out of London Heathrow often means paying a few hundred dollars in taxes and fees, due to the UK Air Passenger Duty. However, you can redeem Avios for flights with British Airways and pay as little as $1 in taxes and fees.

Plus, if your plans change and you need to cancel, you’ll only lose out on $1 instead of the standard cancellation fee of $55.

Outside of Europe, short-haul flights booked with Avios are also good value for quick jaunts around Asia with Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Malaysia Airlines.

You’ll also find value in redeeming Avios for flights in Australia with Qantas. If you redeem them for business class, you’ll also be able to sample some lounges, which is always a nice way to add value to the experience.

If you don’t see the flight you’re looking for on the British Airways website, be sure to search for availability on the American Airlines AAdvantage, too. If you find something there, just call British Airways and you should be able to complete the booking.

As always, check the cash prices to make sure you’re getting decent value for your points, as sometimes it’s better to save them for higher-value redemptions.

Check out these awesome deals you definitely don't want to miss if you're thinking about travelling in the next few months!
